Next Saturday I will be taking on the 2 mile open water Serpentine Swim to raise much needed money for Surrey Special Olympics – a wonderful organisation which does so much to enrich the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities through the transformative power of sport and competition.
For me this will (hopefully) complete the London Classics triple having previously run the London Marathon in 2005 and cycled the RideLondon-Surrey 100 in 2013, 2014 and 2018. Given that both the last time I swam regularly was at school (I’m now 60) and until very recently had never tried open water swimming, however, this event is likely to be the toughest of three.
I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
