The Maltings venue and galleries are closed until it’s safe and viable for us to open again. We all miss it. You’ve made us the heart of creativity and entertainment for Berwick. Our audiences, artists, performers, young people and volunteers bring the place to life. We know the gap we leave and we’re determined to return.
As a registered charity with no box office or café income since March, we’re cutting our costs right back and accessing all the help we can from local and national Government, and from charitable trusts. Before we re-open we’ll need to make some big changes – new cleaning, hygiene and distancing arrangements to take good care of our customers, performers and staff, and limits on the number of tickets we sell for events. And we’ll stay closed until all this can happen.
So we need your help, the support of our own theatrical ‘angels’. We’re asking everyone who values The Maltings and wants to continue enjoying it in the future to donate to help us survive. We know these are difficult times, but every donation will make a huge difference and bring reopening closer.
We’ve enlisted Berwick’s most famous angel, Henry Travers in the film It’s a Wonderful Life, to bring us luck. Taking part in community shows in Berwick ignited Henry’s love of theatre as a youngster and he went on to play one of cinema’s most optimistic characters. Will you be our Guardian Angel?
Thank you for your support.
