8:56 Foundation

The 8:56 Foundation is a Men’s Mental Health non profit organisation based in King’s Lynn, they aim to raise awareness, increase the profile of support and reduce the stigma associated with mental health in Norfolk. The foundation is run by volunteers, set up after losing local business man Lee Calton to suicide in April 2021. Lee was 37, very successful, was a great friend to all, with a huge smile he was very kind and generous and loved to do things for charities including running the London marathon three times. Norfolk’s suicide rate is above the national average, the 8:56 want to change this! By using sport as an aid, we want to encourage men to talk and reduce the risk of loneliness and isolation.
