Borders Book Festival

The Borders Book Festival is an annual cultural event taking place in the Scottish Borders that celebrates the arts and literature in Scotland and beyond. The festival delivers a packed line up of stars from the worlds of stage and screen, current affairs, politics, literature, and sport in Melrose each June. In addition, the festival offers an established annual Schools Day in September. Through the main festival and our schools programmes, we have nurtured positive partnerships with community organisations, enabled participation in the arts, reached out to disadvantaged individuals and groups, and connected more diverse audiences to the lifechanging power of stories and new experiences.
