Jack and Jade are taking to pedal power for their next sporting epic to raise funds for the rescue centre. Last year they ran 21 miles. This year, they plan to cycle 120km by taking part in the Tour o the Borders 2025.
The event is on Sunday 7th September. It takes place over closed roads with full safety and medical support. The start and finish are in the event village at Tweed Green in Peebles. The route takes in the Devil’s Beef Tub, Moffat Dale and the Grey Mare’s Tail. There is an option for riders to have a break in Moffat town and we hope many of you will turn out to cheer the competitors there.
If your legs are aching at just the thought if 120kms of pedalling, then you might contemplate the wee Touro on Saturday 6th September. This is 30km- and you can even use an ebike.
You can find all the information about the event on the web site - tourotheborders.com. There is an entry form linked to this page. Closing date for the full tour is 31st August 2025.
We know there are many keen cyclists in D&G. Please consider entering this fantastic event and raising a bit of money for the dogs through sponsorship. You can set up a donation page through Just Giving or we can provide a paper sponsorship form, if you prefer.
The charity is very grateful to Helen and James Pedley (Pepsi) for their advice on a suitable cycle event. James is a seasoned long-distance cyclist and will be taking part in the tour to raise some funds for the rescue dogs.
This is going to be quite the challenge so please donate what you can and help cheer them on.
