What makes Bury Ditches so special?
Bury Ditches is home to one of the best-preserved hill forts in the country, dating back to around 500BC. It features stunning views, ancient history, and the beautiful Wood White butterfly, one of the UK's most threatened species. Forestry England has recently carried out a conservation project to help look after them, working with Butterfly Conservation and kindly funded by the Conservation Fund, from Shropshire Hills National Landscapes.
Why should I donate to Forestry England?
We look after more land and more trees than any other organisation. We are a public body, but we receive limited public funding and generate most of our revenue ourselves. The money we get from our valued supporters is vital and goes back into enhancing our beautiful forests
Any money donated, will help to support our operational teams in safeguarding tree health, protecting the many species which call our forests home or maintaining and improving infrastructure to enable people to access our woodlands. We use every penny raised wisely, to provide vital homes for wildlife and places for people to enjoy nature, beauty and local history.
Without your support we wouldn’t be able to achieve all of this. Thank you for your valuable contribution.
