The Charity provides social care Day Services, enabling adults with intellectual (learning) disability to develop life and work skills, and to manage their health & wellbeing. Journey supports conditions from birth which significantly impact intellectual ability such as Down's, Williams, Prader-Willi, Smith-Magenis, cerebral palsy and Sotos Syndromes. Over to thirds of our Clients have comorbid sensory, physical and/or mental health disability. The Charity was founded in 1983 and now operates across the north east with four sites in the region. These are at Blyth and Hexham (Northumberland), Newcastle (Tyne & Wear) and Coundon (County Durham).
