Mid Wales Opera

Mid Wales Opera is passionate about opera, taking inspiring productions into theatres and spaces where live opera is rarely seen and bringing it to new audiences. We are committed to nurturing, challenging and encouraging young and fresh talent. For more than thirty years Mid Wales Opera has been producing high quality opera. The company has grown from local roots to touring nationally twice a year entertaining audiences in their own theatres and halls with the glorious world of opera, live and local. We work with freelancers, both artists and support staff, and have recently commissioned, with our partners Ensemble Cymru, a series of local projects, run specifically by and for freelance artists in their own local communities. We encourage community participation with our OpenStages productions and our community choruses alongside working in schools across Wales to engage children at a young age with the power of music.
