Corona - Homeless

Coronavirus will affect the homeless disproportionately. They are are unable to self-isolate safely and cannot protect themselves from potentially fatal infection. When staying in a shelter with others who may be infected they will either contract the virus unknowingly or be forced back on to the streets.

Crisis' policy director Matthew Downie said: "People sleeping rough are particularly vulnerable because they are more likely to have a range of existing health conditions and face specific challenges in that they may be unable to regularly wash their hands, nor can they self-isolate if they feel unwell.'

National Funding Scheme is raising an emergency fund to support and care for the homeless who are in extreme danger from COVID-19. Funds raised will be donated to Crisis or other charities working to protect the homeless.

Ways to give

  • Suggested amounts: £5, £10, £15, £25, £50, or any amount

Being homeless is a lonely, dangerous position in its self, to be homeless and have to survive through covid19 must be even more lonely and dangerous. Me and my family are very lucky to have a home and not be lonely or in danger. So just a donation towards helping those homeless. Best wishes with your charity and stay safe. X
