About National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain
NYBBGB exists to provide opportunities for young people to perform brass music at the very highest standard, and is aimed not only in developing their technical playing, but also improving their musicianship, widening musical horizons, and perpetuating the proud UK brass band tradition.
Entry is by audition and residential courses, lasting for one week, are held twice a year. These take place at various centres throughout the United Kingdom, under the direction of a team of instrumental tutors and the Artistic Director / Guest Conductor. Recent concerts include those at the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Academy of Music, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Bridgewater Hall.
The Artistic Director is Bramwell Tovey and President Elgar Howarth.
