General N&N Hospitals Charity

We raise money to support patients , their families and our staff at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital which covers all our sites including the NNUH, Jenny Lind Hospital and Cromer and District Hospital.  Our funds are used to provide the extras that can not be funded by the NHS.  The amazing donations and legacies of our supporters (including sponsored events), are used to fund extra equipment, staff development, research, and enhanced environment and facilities.

 

Examples of recent projects supported by us are –

 

• The newly opened orthopaedic centre at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital (which received a £2 million pound grant), in order to enhance recovery and helping to get patients home sooner.  The grant provided state of the art equipment, including ultrasound scanners and equipment.
• New Clinics at Cromer Hospital to support palliative care patients – this provides a space for individuals in North Norfolk to express their preferences for future care.  These Clinics aim to reduce the fear often associated with end of life and empower people to take control and plan for their future.
• Provision of funds to purchase a dedicated cardiac MRI scanner for the new NNUH Diagnostic assessment centre, which is set to see 500 patients a day when it is completed in 2025.
• Complementary therapies for Cancer patients, carers, and staff.  These are beneficial for wellbeing, reduce anxiety, improve quality of life, and may contribute to prolonging life.
• Patient Transport -

 

We are currently actively seeking funds for more projects, which include –

• Provision for further accommodation so parents and carers of sick children can be near their loved one when in hospital.
• New robots to deliver pioneering surgery – which provided surgeons with greater visibility and precision than conventional surgery.  For patients’ robotic surgery is far safer and less invasive, resulting in shorter recovery times and a quicker return to normality.

 

But also, funds for smaller ongoing support to all our areas of care, innovation, and education, including Cancer care, Neonatal care,  Palliative care, The Jenny Lind Childrens Hospital,  Renal care.
