Northern Devon Foodbank
Northern Devon Foodbank delivers emergency food aid to people across North Devon and Torridge
We provide emergency crisis support to those without access to food and work to address the issue causing hunger in our areas two districts. Over 200 volunteers work tirelessly to support 100 households a week, feeding around 260 people. Collecting donated food and picking up supermarket surplus wherever we can gives most of our food, but we still spend £400 per week purchasing what we need to supply basic food parcels.
Our work to reduce the need for food aid encompasses income and debt advice through the Citizens Advice, local energy poverty charity 361 Energy and many others that help those trapped in poverty. We are increasingly working to act on social as well as individual reasons that people find themselves trapped without access to affordable food. Our ethos of unending compassion provides the light, which we hope to bring to all those facing the darkness of despair.
