Tackling Minds CIC

Tackling Minds is a trusted provider of UK Angling Events to support people with issues….we teach People to Fish to help their Mental Health.

Tackling Minds works closely with Mental Health organisations, Schools and Social Prescribing Link Workers.

Our volunteers provide a safe, supportive, accessible and affordable environment within which any community’s diverse population can enjoy cultural, educational, leisure and social activities.

A significant, sustained demand for what we offer means we there are ever increasing demands for resources:

  • we need more qualified Volunteers to organise and deliver more fishing Sessions

  • to fund fishing tackle and bait

  • to store our equipment on the venues we use

  • funding to attend Events to promote what we offer

By engaging with small groups, using various fishing methods, the life-changing benefits we deliver includes::

- Personal stimulation and development opportunities via the positive Stress-Relief Therapy that fishing in blue-green spaces offers;

- Assembling people in a socially engaging environment that’s essential to securing Well-being and Active Ageing

Over the last few years I have suffered badly with my mental health and anxiety but I soon found myself in love with fishing again. It’s not only allows me to excise my body but my mind too. I was able to build on my relationship with my dad and enjoy fishing just like i used to when I was little. Fishing helps improve my concentration and patience whilst reducing my stress levels. I love being outdoors and I find doing so instantly boosts my mood.
