The gift that gives back

Make this Christmas special with the gift that gives back.

For over 40 years it has been our mission to reduce the incidence and impact of domestic abuse and violence against women and girls in West Mercia by providing support, protection and prevention services that empower those affected by domestic abuse to rebuild their lives.

The more people who donate to us, the more we can help vulnerable women and children – every contribution, no matter how big or small helps us make a difference.

Buy a gift that supports the recovery journey of domestic abuse survivors, from £5 to £50 your donation can make a real difference to those in need this Christmas.

£5 will buy tea, coffee and biscuits for our community drop-in’s. These sessions help those isolated in rural communities to access support from our outreach workers.

£10 will pay for an hour of staff time on our Helpline, where we provide free and confidential support. Our Helpline is the gateway to the wide range of services provided by WMWA across the region.

£15 will pay for travel so that every woman who needs us has the opportunity to join our recovery group, to help process her experience and build friendships with other survivors.

£25 will buy a welcome parcel for when women and their children arrive at refuge. Our refuge staff ensure that everyone staying with us has access to essential items including toiletries, bedding and pyjamas.

£50 enables us to deliver three sessions of talking therapy by one of our counselling students on placement.

Thank you for your support!

I had help from Women’s Aid many moons ago and the empowering feeling it gave me is still with me today. I would hope if I was in a refuge someone would be kind enough to give me compassion and a gift

My Christmas gift to all the other victims of DA whether they currently realise it or not. After receiving support from WMWA for a while, they supported me to change my life for the better this year for myself and my girls. Thank you WMWA

I have experienced the effects of domestic violence in my own family, and I have also known others who have also experience domestic violence. I am aware of the tremendous work performed by Women's Aid, and I believe it is truly worthy of support.

Because if I was ever in the same situation I would appreciate pajamas and the basics
