FUNDS DESPERATELY NEEDED FOR ANIMALS IN UKRAINIAN WAR

We have all seen the most horrendous, frightening and heartrending scenes of people and animals in Ukraine as they come under illegal fire from Putin's Russia. They are all trying to survive the best they can and our hearts go out to them.

Many animals have been injured by shrapnel, some have been abandoned and others are companion animals to the brave soldiers and volunteers of Ukraine.

West Yorkshire Animals In Need has had a presence in Ukraine since virtually the start of the illegal invasion by Russia. WYAIN helped to fund a field veterinarian tent on the 18.3.22 with a veterinary ambulance on the front line at the customs point of Orlivka Ukraine/ Isaccea Romania. Here first aid was given where needed, documents checked, animals vaccinated, chipped and EU passports issued so that the animals could continue safely and legally on the onward journey with their families into the safety of Poland.

The first €1000 sent by WYAIN was used to purchase vaccinations, internal and external parasite treatments for 200 animals –  for 100 dogs and 100 cats - and send it via special courier (packed in ice) from Bucharest up to the Isaceea border. The remainder of the funds have been used on veterinary first aid, pet food, animal carriers, harnesses, leashes etc. and anything else required to help these poor animals. The situation is as desperate now as it was at the start of the war.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO HELP BY DONATING!

This fundraiser is to raise funds for those small animal rescues and people looking after animals who would otherwise be overlooked.

I'm sure that your hearts are breaking just like mine and the feeling of helplessness just engulfs me. Please donate to help the small animal rescues and those people looking after animals in Ukraine - they are desperate. Pleas for help are coming in all the time and we must not fail the animals or the brave Ukranians.
