Food4Heroes brings together local restauranteurs, publicans or caterers prepared to fire up their kitchens and cook fresh meals for foodbank users. COVID-19 has increased the demands on foodbanks dramatically. It’s well documented that obesity and poor nutrition increases the risks associated with COVID-19. Food4Heroes aims to not only increase the amount of food given to those in need but also help support their nutritional needs and alleviate some of the pressures on the NHS associated with poor diet.
