Appeal

Leeds City College Food Bank

Over the past three academic years, the Leeds City College Food Bank initiative has made significant strides in supporting our student community:

58 Essential Parcels Distributed: Providing vital food and toiletry supplies to students in need.

Festive Support: In December, special Christmas dinner parcels were delivered to ensure students could enjoy the festive season.

Toiletry Parcels & Food Bank Vouchers: Distributed in December to assist students with essential personal care items and additional food resources.

Morning Breakfast Club: In collaboration with Tesco's surplus food program, our breakfast club offers students a nutritious start to their day, promoting well-being and readiness to learn.

Empowering Our Students

Now that the project is fully up and running, we're excited to share that student involvement has grown. Learners are now actively contributing to the initiative, helping to:

Organize and distribute parcels

Run the breakfast club

Build their employability, teamwork, communication, and community awareness skills

This hands-on experience gives students a chance to give back while developing transferable skills for the future.

Looking Ahead: December 2025 Shoebox Appeal

As we continue to grow, we’re planning to join forces with the department’s annual Shoebox Appeal in December 2025. By connecting both projects, we aim to:

Reach even more students and local families in need

Provide seasonal gifts and essentials

Bring the college community together in a unified act of giving
